Anche il film di Bellocchio e sta- to accolto da furiose polemiche, ruotanti intorno all'interpretazio- ne della stupenda attrice olandese Maruschka Detmers, e soprat- tutto al ruolo dello psicanalista consulente Massimo Fagioli.

Celebri due brevi sequenze cariche di erotismo: quella in cui Giulia masturba il fidanzato brigatista sotto il tavolo del parlatorio durante un colloquio in carcere e quella in cui pratica ad Andrea una fellatio non simulata.
